Some of you know that I am now a single girl once again. And there is always a certain thing, when dating, that I cant seem to tell people right off. I never had a problem with someone not understanding or is grossed out but I still have a hard time just coming out and saying it. I guess I never know how to approach the subject.
So for anyone out there who is reading this blog and want to get to know me on a more personal note, her is goes.... I am a Type I Diabetic. I have been this way for the past 20 years. I was just a kid. No one in my family has it and they are not really sure how I got it except they think I caught a bad viral infection that cased my pancreas not to work any longer. I wear an insulin pump, that can come off when I am in the shower or doing other naked type activities.
So now you know and I don't have to speak of it any longer. All I ask is...Love me for me.

ReplyDeleteNow, you know that I don't have to tell you this, but I'm going to anyway just to reinforce the point! ;) There is nothing odd or weird or embarrassing about Type I diabetes - you're a beautiful, creative, amazing woman and I know that you will find someone who will love you for you. :)
My submissive is a Type 1 as well..Oddly enough, she had the same issues with disclosing the information that you had. It isn't a deformity, etc..Just have to be careful with carb counting, the pump is SOOO much better than the old 3 meal shots, and 1 long term shot. During intense sessions, i just pop up every once in awhile to make sure all is well. Its a good thing.... be proud of what you have!!Take care of yourself!!
ReplyDeletePersonally, I am not familiar with the specifics of diabetes. However, I do know it would never impact how I feel about you as you are such a delightful gal. As Dave indicated, you'd just have to make sure your partner understands all the signs of any issues to be concerned with.
